The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) established in the year 2013


With the vision of developing the department as a Centre of Excellence in R&D, in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering and make the students blossom into meritorious and self-disciplined engineers by hard work


The aim of this department is to empower aspirants with the right knowledge and specialized skill set in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering so as to impart in them an urge for lifelong learning with involvement and to develop innovative and simple instructional material to drive the concepts into the minds of students and infuse scientific temper in the students and guide them towards research in communication engineering

Educational objectives of the programme

  • To provide students with sound foundation in the mathematical, scientific and engineering fundamentals necessary to formulate, analyse and solve engineering problems
  • To develop the ability among students to define engineering problems in the fields of Electronics and Communication Engineering, and to employ necessary techniques, hardware, and communication tools for modern Engineering applications
  • To improve the values, skills, leadership and team spirit for comprehensive and wholesome personality, to promote entrepreneurial interest among students

Technology being ever-increasingly complex, there has never been a more exciting time to pursue a Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering. The Course is designed to give the students both the theoretical and practical background in all frontier areas of Electronics and Communication so that they are constantly aware of the rapid changes taking place in this field. Engineering Graduates will be able toIdentify, formulate, review research literature, and analyse complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences. They can understand the impact of the professional Engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for the suitable development


Electronics and Communication Engineering graduates find opportunities in the terrestrial and extra-terrestrial communication systems like telephones, cellular phones, television, optical fiber communication, consumer and entertainment devices and space programs research. The field of Electronics and Communication is one of the imperative branches in engineering. This department has a team of dedicated, talented, well qualified and an experienced teaching faculty. The department also has qualified and dedicated supporting staff for our laboratories. This course covers a wide range of topics such as antennas, microwave circuits, radio-wave propagation, optics, networking and radar to communications signal processing

Lab Facility

Our department is supported by well-equipped multidisciplinary laboratories to cover all the experiments prescribed in Anna University/A.I.C.T.E. Curriculum and to support all research activities.The Department is fully equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories such as DSP, VLSI, Optical & Microwave, and RF/Communication


Most faculty members are accomplished doctorates and postgraduates with considerable research and academic experience. The department has specialists from the fields of device electronics, signal processing, microwave & optical engineering, wireless communication, embedded systems and VLSI design


The ECE Department prepares students to pursue leadership, technical, and management positions in a variety of industries. Students have obtained placements at leading companies.Some are pursuing their higher studies in prestigious institutions in India and abroad
